Investment Guidance

Are you ready to start formulating a strategy to reduce unnecessary risk and to earn the rates of return you need to achieve your financial goals?

At Stratford Financial Planning, we develop, analyze, and review your investment needs by expertly accessing the four components of investment management: Risk and return, asset allocation, understanding and selecting products, and measuring and evaluating performance.

Assessing a portfolio’s risk and your tolerance to its risk is a fundamental step in preparing a proper portfolio. We will help you to articulate your risk tolerance in a way that best represents your objectives while taking into account your constraints and needs for liquidity, time, and maintaining your family’s current lifestyle.

Asset Allocation is a way depicting your personal goals and needs, objectives, and personal constraints into a mix of investment assets that together suit your situation.

We will develop a dynamic management plan that involves choosing a target mix of assets from amongst the various options. The plan will focus on re-balancing the actual portfolio back to its target mix when appropriate, and evolving the portfolio over time to account for periodic developments within the various markets from around the world or the places you choose to invest in.

Assets selection is also a significant part of our investment management process. As a vital part of your investment plan, your options range from cash and cash equivalents, bonds, mortgage assets and preferred shares, foreign currency bonds, Canadian equities, international equities or ADRs, metals and derivatives, real estate, and, of course, the family business.
